Clinical response to Cefamezin, a new semi-synthetic Cephalosporin derivative was studied in 30 patients; 8 with generalized peritonitis, 7 with wound abscess, 6 with burn, 6 with sepsis and 3 for prophylaxis.
This antibiotic was administered intramuscularly or intravenously in doses of 1-2gm/day except one child, and was markedly effective in 14 patients and moderately effective in 13 patients. However, -no response was obtained iii ¢¥the rest 3 patients.
No clinical side effect and disorder in the liver and kidney were encountered in any patients.
